Letter from the President

I am honoured to serve the London, Elgin and Middlesex community as President of LM Crime Stoppers. Following in the footsteps of those who served before me, I am proud to say that our Board is headed in the right direction because of the strong foundation my predecessors built. Our members have spent an extraordinary amount of time and effort to make our organization the strong, vibrant and growing one you all know today. Our key differentiator as a non-profit is our people. We have an incredibly diverse team with honest viewpoints, vibrant ideas and a collective winning attitude. When it comes to our relationships in the community, our people are our strength.

As President, I want to make sure our community knows that although we are a group of volunteers, we contribute in many ways to help keep our community safe. Our people sincerely care about the community they serve. They are diligent in getting to know the needs of those they serve. Our team is doing whatever it takes to help reduce crime. We sincerely appreciate our local law enforcement partners. We understand that they’ve got a tough job and are constantly challenged day in and day out. Although we are not a law enforcement organization and receive no government funding, Crime Stoppers provides an anonymous avenue to relay valuable information from the community  to help ease their investigations as much as possible.

Crime Stoppers is your avenue to report crime anonymously. We want to do our part in reducing crime because we know how hard our community is hit by criminals seeking to take advantage of it. We feel our community’s pain and we aim to reduce the toll of crime as much as possible. We know the great people of our community are tired of what can feel like a losing battle against crime. We know this because of the extraordinary volume of anonymous tips that are submitted. We understand what you are feeling because we see it and feel it too.

As president, it is my mission to make you aware of the struggles of our community. I want to make you aware of our mission to help reduce crime. I want to make you aware that we are a call or click away if you have any helpful information that can bring justice to our community and our loved ones. I want to make you aware that there are good people here to help you and you do not have to be afraid. You can also support your local Crime Stoppers program by considering making a donation. Every dollar you donate goes towards helping us fight crime another day and allows us to continue to operate in the communities of London and Middlesex. Know that every dollar that goes to us goes back to supporting you and your community.

Your relationship with us is beyond meaningful.  As you read this, know that you are valued by the community of London and Middlesex, especially if you can help us in our mission in some way. I encourage you to explore our organization and get to know us. We want to get to you. We will always be here to help.

Sincerely,
Chris Turino
President & Chair
London Middlesex Crime Stoppers

Crime Stoppers of London Middlesex invites you to become a part of their team.

London Middlesex Crime Stoppers is currently looking for dedicated volunteers.  Our valued and dedicated volunteer team is the strength of Crime Stoppers of London Middlesex.  Citizens who join our locally focused committees participate in activities and events to promote public awareness and knowledge of the Crime Stoppers program, the Tip Line, and how we ensure anonymity. Committees meet once each month or as needed. Committee volunteers are encouraged to liaise with various leaders within their community to build relationships with all stakeholder groups.

Each committee is led by a Chair Person and has a representative who sits on the Board of Directors. Committees create and execute awareness and/or fund raising events that they feel reflect the personality and character of their local community.

The Board of Directors is comprised of a cross-section of volunteers who govern the overall operations of Crime Stoppers. Reward payments are authorized by the Board of Directors. The Board creates and ensures adherence to Policy & Procedures as well as our By-Laws, and executes some fundraising events.

The Board of Directors requires members who are:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • not employees of any law enforcement agency
  • live in the London Middlesex area
  • willing to become a Director of the Board
