Elgin County OPP are renewing a call for information in connection to the deaths of Roger Smith, 40, and Wendy Haveron, 45, who were killed 20 years ago at their dairy farm near St. Thomas, Ont. In the early hours of Feb. 2, 1999, police and fire officials were called to a house fire at the common-law couple's home. An investigation revealed that they were killed by blunt force trauma, and that their home was deliberately set ablaze, according to an OPP news release. Click here to read the full story on cbc.ca

On January 16 2019 London Elgin Middlesex Crime Stoppers partnered with Salvation Army to host a human trafficking awareness event. Over 325 attended to hear Caroline talk about being trafficked herself. London Police and OPP furthered the discussion by providing details about how human trafficking is in our own backyard in a big way. These videos were the first part of this project and were produced by Western students for Crime Stoppers during their spring term in 2018. Posters, billboards and signage on transit buses will follow this year.

UPDATE: On December 28th 2018, The Strathroy Caradoc Police Recovered a dark blue 2018 Dodge Ram pickup truck, Ontario licence AW59012 on Mill Lane near Metcalfe Street. The truck is believed to have been used as the get away vehicle in the robbery of Poag’s Jewellers the day before. The pick up was reported stolen on October 12th at approximately 10:30pm from an address on Marconi Blvd in London. Ministry Seeks Public’s Help after Horse Shot in Mount Brydges

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is seeking the public’s help in identifying the person or persons responsible for shooting a horse in Mount Brydges. On December 12, 2017, conservation officers received a call from Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service informing them that in the afternoon of Sunday, December 10, 2017, a horse had been shot on a farm on Century Drive in Mount Brydges, Middlesex Centre.  The horse, which was found in a fenced field, had to be euthanized because of the injury.
