ORGANIZATION PROFILE Crime Stoppers is a registered non-profit, community-based charitable program involving the co-operative efforts of the community, the media and the police in the fight against crime. Crime Stoppers encourages the public to report information concerning crimes that have been committed, are being committed or are about to be committed. Crime Stoppers has become an invaluable investigative tool to Ontario Law Enforcement Agencies.

A “vulnerable persons” background check with your local police service is required with your application for membership. We are happy to provide a letter to your local police service as to why you require the background check. After your application and background check have been returned to us, a confidential review of your application will be conducted by our Membership Team and an interview will take place to get to know you better. You will also have an opportunity to get to know us better at the same time. Acceptance of your application is at the sole discretion of the Membership Team. The Membership Team shall not provide written or verbal reasons for either the acceptance or rejection of any application.
